Men’s Health

In many people’s lives, men’s health issues are simply overlooked or disregarded until they grow serious enough that it’s impossible to no longer do so. At ReGenesis Health Care, we are out to help men live healthier lives, recognize when medical care can improve their health, and provide care to help keep them strong and healthy.

Men’s health needs are considerably different when compared to those of women, so it is vital that men receive men’s health care that’s tailored to their specific needs. Men have certain health concerns such as prostate health. There are several issues that can affect this gland including prostatitis, which is an inflammation of it, and we can prescribe antibiotics for it. An enlarged prostate is another condition that affects a majority of men over 50, if not almost all. The urinary symptoms it causes increase with age. We can provide the necessary prescription(s) for medicine(s) and/or refer in the event surgery is required. Prostate cancer is a common problem in men. In fact, it’s the most common cancer in men besides skin cancer. We might not be able to treat it, but we can refer you to the correct doctor if signs point to prostate cancer, especially since delaying treatment only causes the symptoms to linger and worsen with time. We also educate on ways to prevent it.

The prostate isn’t the only area that we focus on when it comes to men’s health. Statistics prove that men are more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than women. Evidence from the American Heart Association (AHA) supports this by stating that more than one in three adult males have cardiovascular disease (CVD), whether it’s been diagnosed or not. Another issue that men face is obesity and being overweight. Statistics provided by the American Heart Association denote that 72.9 percent of men who are over the age of 20 are classified as obese or overweight. Having excessive body weight increases males’ chances of having serious health problems related to the cardiovascular system such as heart failure, heart disease, hypertension, and stroke. Diabetes is more common in men. A male’s risk of cancer increases more and more with age, but we can provide the necessary screening to help detect it sooner. Male hormones deplete with age, just like in women. We have the ability to monitor your hormonal health and prescribe hormonal replacement therapy.

As a men’s healthcare provider, we know that a man’s health needs are unique and complex. We take this into consideration every time a man enters through our doors. That’s why our men’s health department offers a wide range of services all geared toward the unique needs of men. Basically, this allows us to diagnose and treat more effectively because we understand the difference between universal health issues and gender-specific problems. In addition to diagnosing and treating, we also educate to promote an optimal level of health throughout the rest of a man’s life. We not only evaluate your health, but we educate you on men’s health issues for you to live a longer, happier life. We do so at a rate that’s more affordable to you than traditional healthcare facilities.
